as it has a cleaner approach to the installed mod listings. What I
would like to see is the installed list on the right hand side as
per 1.72 version. Seeing how we are taught to read left to right,
it was more natural in the way it was displayed.</p>
<p>I feel that the url linking to the site of the mod is rather
unnecessary and was wondering if a general 'Link' could be placed
within the installed mods list. I also wouldn't mind if the
function buttons were above the details window for ease of use and
the install meter under the details window.</p></div>Gaias(Bio-Boy 3000)tag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6826062009-12-06T10:34:18Z2009-12-06T10:34:18ZRedesign of Install/Uninstall tab - Concepts<div><p>I agree. The fifth one. It is more vertical with the advantage
of displaying a greater number of rows for mods. Also if you are
not gonna put more any more text than this under the
INSTALL/UNINSTALL/CONFIGURE buttons, you may pull those down as
much as you can to give some more rows to the Details frame.</p></div>cansel isikseltag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6826062009-12-06T10:55:41Z2009-12-06T11:09:16ZRedesign of Install/Uninstall tab - Concepts<div><p>I have made a small (amateurish) sketch on how i think the
layout would look good.<br>
I moved the list again on the right side and gave it two buttons
above it to switch between mods and official DLC (because such a
sorting option would be helpfull i belive), and moved the other
stuff to the left and made the info window bigger.<br>
Maybe the install Bar should be below the Text and the Buttons on
the left side, but thats not so important i think.</p></div>Alex "Alexspeed" Bachnertag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6826062009-12-06T15:30:36Z2009-12-06T15:30:36ZRedesign of Install/Uninstall tab - Concepts<div><p>Well I must say i'm surprised to see everyone wanting the list
on the right. Standard UI design would put it on the left, because
you tend to arrange the UI by order of operations, with the first
tasks being top left, and last tasks bottom right. But hey i'm game
:)</p>
<p>On the issue of the URL, I really do feel it is necessary. As a
mod author myself, I like my URL being visible to people who may
want to check on updates or maybe see what else I have made. It
isn't possible for it to be put into the list without a ton of work
creating a custom windows form control.</p></div>jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6826062009-12-06T16:07:21Z2009-12-06T16:07:22ZRedesign of Install/Uninstall tab - Concepts<div><p>My vote would go towards the 5th option. I think it's nicely
laid out and gives you a larger view of installed mods than the
more horizontal layouts.</p>
<p>I'm not to sure why people would want the list on the right
though.... left seems much more natural to me.</p></div>Scott Ryantag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6826062009-12-06T16:12:16Z2009-12-06T16:12:16ZRedesign of Install/Uninstall tab - Concepts<div><p>I am not sure why i feel the list should be on the right side, i
guess its because of the scroll bar, i am used to searching for
scroll bars on the right of the window and it irritates me when
theres one in the middle of the application.</p></div>Alex "Alexspeed" Bachnertag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6826062009-12-06T23:53:52Z2009-12-06T23:53:52ZRedesign of Install/Uninstall tab - Concepts<div><p>First, I want to say that I <strong>do</strong> value everyone's
input, both on this and in other matters as we move forward.
However I have decided to keep the mod list on the left hand side,
as it just works much better in operation.</p>
<p>Most languages (and I mean no offense if your native language is
the exception) read Left to Right, as such we also process
information in the same manner. It is just much more natural to
work left to right, first selecting a mod on the left, then looking
to the right to see its details, or to perform an operation.</p>
<p>Attached is a pretty much final version of what this is going to
end up as.</p></div>jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6826062009-12-07T00:43:19Z2009-12-07T00:43:19ZRedesign of Install/Uninstall tab - Concepts<div><p>The filter works really well, and is a nice little "quality of
life" feature for those of you with tons of mods!</p></div>jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6826062009-12-07T06:29:22Z2009-12-13T02:03:02ZRedesign of Install/Uninstall tab - Concepts<div><p>I managed to miss that discussion completely and made a ticket
about UI instead. Hopefully that will teach me how not to be hasty
in the future.</p>
