Changleog

Newly redesigned Install/Uninstall tab provides more user
friendly display of installed mods

New filtering of installed mods. Checkboxes allow you to toggle
the display of Official EA/Bioware content and 3rd party
content

Filter box lets you filter displayed mods with user input
strings

Initial support for installation of mod packages directly
without manual packaging. This needs lots of testing and will need
further tweaking and handling of cases. Just drag and drop the ZIP
or DAZIP file onto damodder and click install.

fixed bug with reading in mod details with a blank Version
tag

Here is 1.9 gang and we're almost to Beta 2.0! I want to work
through the 1.9's as we iron out the rough edges of the new install
UI and installation of mods WITHOUT manually pre-packaging them.
Just download the mod from wherever you download the, and drop it
on DAModder. They won't all work, but it should work with most
standard forms of distribution.

Known Issues

If you drag a Core Override mod .ZIP that is not compatible with
DAModder, the application will try to determine the basics that it
needs, UID & Title from the name of the zip file. It will then
open a dialog asking you to verify what it picked, and edit or add
new details if you desire. The button at the bottom of that dialog
says "Install", but when you click it, the mod does
not install. You still need to click Install back
on the main screen, just like normal. This is obviously a confusing
UI issue and will be ironed out.

If a Core Override mod is packaged in an odd way, DAModder may
still try to install it and make a mess putting files in weird
places. If this happens please let me know what mod caused it.

Beta 1.9 is attached to this post, but always scan the
rest of the thread in case an updated release is made

jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-07T01:47:45Z2009-12-07T01:47:45ZBeta 1.9 Available

Hey gang,

The goal of Beta 1.9 is to iron out the Install & Uninstall
experience from the player's perspective. I want
to focus hard on that, smooth out the rough edges and find the bugs
that are lurking. As issues are found I will release updates in
1.9, and then we will move to Beta 2.0 and start focusing on the
builder packaging tools.

I really want you to look at this first tab, the
Install/Uninstall tab as if the program were finished. Let me know
of any issues at all.

I will also be starting a new thread to list mods that are not
installing or uninstalling properly so I can follow up on them to
see what the issue is. So if you have an issue with any mod, please
post it in that thread.

jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-07T05:34:32Z2009-12-07T05:34:32ZBeta 1.9 Available

Beta 1.9.1 is Released

Changelog

DAModder window is now resizable. Currently only the
Install/Uninstall tab plays nice when resized. The others just
won't change size, even if you make the overall window larger

DAModder window can be maximized

The Install/Uninstall tab is split into two panes, left and
right. The split can be dragged left or right to resize the two
areas as desired.

Known Issues

The View README button is not operational yet

The Configure button is not operational yet

jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-08T03:57:16Z2009-12-08T03:57:16ZBeta 1.9 Available

Beta 1.9.2 is Released

r55

Installed Mod filter will now filter on Publisher in addition
to Title

r56

Initial support for parsing mod details using localization
information. This means that is a mod has CDATA for your local
language, DAModder will display that information instead of the
default English.

DAModder now supports Markdown inspired formatting of mod
descriptions. This allows mod authors to do some basic formatting
of their descriptions in such a way that is still plainly readable
outside of DAModder, but in DAModder the descriptions will be
formatted. If you have The Stone Prisoner or Warden's Keep
installed, you will see this in the description.

Some more UI shuffling and re-arranging. Still deciding on what
works best.

r57

Fixed bug that prevented Drag and Drop of mod files onto
webform

Added ModInstallProgress form to show installation progress of
mod

Double clicking in the filter box quick clears the filter

r58

InstallMod function created to consolidate code

When a mod is dropped onto DAModder, it will now automatically
ask if you want to install the mod. You no longer have to drop, and
then press Install Mod on the main screen.

Files can now be dropped in the area of the webform

readme and changelog files will now be detected for some mods,
and copied with the mod. This is initial code and will currently
only work for .DAZIP files inside of .ZIP files (DAZIP and a readme
zipped up)

If a readme was detected, then it will be displayed after mod
installation is completed

cr\lf is now converted to a
in DAMarkdown.Convert instead of an entire paragraph. This provides
better formatting.

DAMarkdown is supported in readme and changelog files

r59

Backup sessions can now be deleted from within DAModder

r60

installation of one was found. This resolves issue 67

r63

fixed a bug that would make it appear as if DAModder was frozen
if you said NO when asked if you wanted to install the mod

r64

Install Mod button now brings up a file browser to select the
mod to be installed.

jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-08T06:24:29Z2009-12-08T06:24:29ZBeta 1.9 Available

downloaded 1.9.3
will keep testing with this one now

Alex "Alexspeed" Bachnertag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-08T06:46:28Z2009-12-08T06:46:28ZBeta 1.9 Available

DAModder Beta 1.9.4 is Released

r65

You can now drag and drop folders into DAModder for
installation. If the mod you want to install is a Core Override mod
in an archive format DAModder can not handle such as RAR or 7z,
then you can extract the mod to a folder, then drag that folder
into DAModder. Drag the folder that contains the files.

At this point pretty much every mod should be installable by
DAModder, unless its just plain weird, or a mod with multiple
packages which will require the sub-packaging system to handle.

jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-08T06:47:53Z2009-12-08T06:47:53ZBeta 1.9 Available

Important The above will not work for .DAZIP
files. What I mean by that is if someone has taken a DAZIP file and
a readme for example, and put them in a RAR file, you can't extract
the RAR then drag the folder with the DAZIP in. That won't work.
Just drag the DAZIP itself in.

jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-08T06:53:50Z2009-12-08T06:53:50ZBeta 1.9 Available

cool, i think that should make allmost any mod now installable,
downloading 1.9.4 for testing

Alex "Alexspeed" Bachnertag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-08T08:26:25Z2009-12-08T08:26:25ZBeta 1.9 Available

Ok i'm turning in to a pumpkin here, so i'm going to head to
bed. Its like 3:30am :)

I've made a few more updates but they are minor and i'll hold
off until tomorrow to see if any bugs crop up that I can roll into
the next release.

jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-08T15:40:23Z2009-12-08T15:40:23ZBeta 1.9 Available

Beta 1.9.5 is Released

r67

Cleaned up DAMarkdown produced HTML a bit

Added H1 and H2 support to DAMarkdown in the "Setext" style.
For an H1, put the header on one line, and on the 2nd line put
multiple equal signs. For an H2 use dashes.

r68

Installed mod list is now sorted alphabetically by Mod Title.
More sorting options may be added in the
future

jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-08T21:01:05Z2009-12-08T21:01:05ZBeta 1.9 Available

Beta 1.9.6 is Released

r69

Default DAModder window is now 800 pixels wide, to better
accommodate longer mod titles. Don't forget that the window is
resizeable and the two "panes" can be adjusted in size as
well.

r70

The user now has the option to view any associated readme file
before deciding to install the mod.

r71

If the user selects an installed mod with a readme file, the
button to view the readme will now be enabled.

r72

Changlog support added. Everywhere the user can view the
readme, they can now toggle to see the readme or changlog

jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-08T23:45:45Z2009-12-08T23:45:45ZBeta 1.9 Available

Okay my tests are finished with beta 1.9.6

I tested 50 mods for install/uninstall (not if they are working
in the game) issues, including all top 25 and all files of the
month from danexus.

Allmost all could be installed (the ones that couldnt got listed
in the seperate thread), alot of them needed a setup in a seperate
folder for core override mods, but that is nothing that can be
changed from us, its up to the modders to make their mods more user
friendly with DAModder if they use the core override folder.

I had not a single error when
installing/uninstalling

Alex "Alexspeed" Bachnertag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-08T23:49:30Z2009-12-08T23:49:30ZBeta 1.9 Available

Hmm actually mods without that subfolder should still install
properly. Are you saying they don't?

jwvanderbecktag:damodder.tenderapp.com,2009-12-02:Comment/6848002009-12-08T23:50:44Z2009-12-08T23:51:19ZBeta 1.9 Available

i meant those with rar & 7zips, the zip-core-override ones
